Mike is 13 y/o and by some magic, we can predict that they are effected negatively by violent entertainment. he suffers a bit because he can't play the trendy teen games with their friends, but lets not trip too much, they are an unknown stranger after all... so there isn't much relevance to you and me, i mean, us, as there's a chance that we aren't effected by violent media but some are, apparently & that's a problem of inclusion

maybe when we reach a truly collaborative society, violent entertainment will have no effects... maybe people who aren't effected (and if you were lazy to read the papers, please keep in mind that violent media can have outcomes other than violence like, aggression [which differs from violence] and as far as research goes, less prosocial behavior and maybe even making people more prone to mental diseases like depression and anxiety) should have the right to consume those! but how about the ones who are effected? can't they hang out with you because "tonight i'm busy watching people killing people while i relax at my couch"? what's boring about activities like mountaineering, having sex, jamming with instruments, fermenting food, talking, cooking, couch co-op games, gardening, pinball, surfing, 3D-printing, ham radio and cycle-touring?

and if you decide to push your moral bar higher, please, ditch competitive entertainment too (i swear you aren't missing anything :) but i can't back this with research
